Do You Need Therapy? 〰️

A message from Christine:

Hi there, I'm Christine—a budding therapist who is passionate about understanding what it means to be human. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, to immigrant parents amidst many possibilities and limitations that have shaped my journey.

Navigating through my teenage years with divorced parents, pursuing a degree driven by convention rather than interests, and navigating relationships that were not making my life at ease anymore, I've often found myself in a state of confusion. Amidst life's tumultuous currents, I discovered solace in exploring movement and wellness, finding answers in learning to inhabit my own body. This journey propelled me towards a deeper understanding of myself and a newfound clarity about the path I want to tread—helping others navigate their own complexities and uncertainties.

When I’m not busy coaching or diving into graduate school work, you’ll often spot me at the gym, fine-tuning my Olympic Weightlifting skills or finding balance through yoga sessions. And when I’m not breaking a sweat, I’m exploring the culinary world in my kitchen, seeking ways to perfect my mother’s recipes and explore delicious discoveries.

Professional
I'm currently enrolled in Naropa University's Master’s Program in Mental Clinical Health, specializing in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Psychology—a mouthful, right? Essentially, my education revolves around diverse therapeutic approaches rooted in mindfulness techniques. These methods empower us to be fully present within our thoughts, emotions, and actions, fostering invaluable space for personal growth and achievement.

I'm deeply passionate about providing therapy to women of all ages, recognizing their unique challenges, and creating a safe space for them on their journey. Incorporating menstrual cycle awareness in therapy allows for a holistic approach, honoring the interconnectedness of mental health and the body. Additionally, as a child of immigrants myself, I'm driven to support immigrant families and their children by fostering culturally sensitive and inclusive therapeutic practices to navigate their unique experiences and challenges.

As I continue my journey toward becoming a therapist, I aim to cultivate an all-encompassing and integrative method. I strive to create a space where every aspect of your experience is valued, whether navigating through the challenging moments or rejoicing in your triumphs. It's about embracing the entirety of your journey, offering support through discomfort, and honoring and celebrating every step of progress and success along the way.
